What A Mess Acquaintance 2011; and Jay-R Lajo, 1st Runner-up.
The Capiz State University- Poblacion Mambusao Campus once again held its annual Acquaintance Party last July 8, 2011 at the Campus Gymnasium. This activity was highlighted by the Search for What A Mess Acquaintance 2011 which was participated in by 11 adorable gentlemen coming from the different departments. In this competition, candidates are expected to dress and act like a girl. This is not a Miss Gay pageant. Candidates must be 100% macho.
This year, another batch of sturdy guys dared to join in this one-of-a-kind beauty contest. They were Joeffrey Facelo, Justine Manuel Layo, Rodel Vigo, Joshua Estocada, Jay-R Lajo, Remark Ebagat, Ronald Duran, Ariel Leal, Eduard Villaseñor, Al Eliseo, and Jose Lusabia. These guys bravely faced all the challenges that the competition had in store for them.
The pageant started with a production number where the candidates dressed like Lady Gaga. The campus was packed with cheers and yells of the spectators. They enjoyed watching the candidates dance and walk on the ramp wearing sexy dresses. These guys were really “pretty.” One by one the candidates introduced themselves which made the audience even wilder because of the screen names they used. They could not imagine that their “brusko” classmates or schoolmates would become “malandi” on stage.
The difficult task of choosing this year’s winners was given to the hands of following judges, namely: Prof. Julie V. Dalida, Prof. Freden S. Delgado, Prof. Caster A. Kapunan, Mr. Herman Baranda, and Ms. Felyn Mae Yap.
The candidates walked on the ramp over and over again in their production number, school uniform, sportswear, casual wear, and improvised gown. They also had a showcase of talent, and were tested in the interview portion. Every stage of the competition was exciting. No matter how serious the candidates were in what they were doing they still looked funny. The talent presentation was even crazier. The interview did not also pass without humor.
The announcement of the winners of the different awards was the most awaited part of the completion. Bagging the awards were Joeffrey Facelo, Best in Production Number; Joshua Estocada, Best in Sportswear; and Jose Lusabia who won five awards which included Best in School Uniform, Best in Casual Wear, Best in Talent, Best in Improvised Gown, and Best in Interview. This was followed by the announcement of the Magic 5. The finalists were Justine Manuel Layo, Joeffrey Facelo, Jay-R Lajo, Al Eliseo, and Jose Lusabia. They were then subjected to the final interview.
This year’s winners were Joeffrey Facelo (a.ka. Maria de Kutchara de Arinola la Kaserola Byuda de Plangganita nga may Uga) of the AB Department, 2nd Runner-up; Jay-R Lajo (a.k.a. Stenograpiya it Opisina de Llanera Manegerya y Administrata) of the BSOA Deapartment, 1st Runner-up; and Jose Lusabia (a.k.a. Ma. Toyota Kawasaki Honda de Traktora Bratatitat) of the Computer Studies Deaprtment, What A Mess Acquaintance 2011.
Due to the absence of the What A Mess Acquaintance 2010 winner Jonaide Reyes, Julius Peñaverde, What A Mess Acquaintance 2010 1st Runner-up, turned over the crown.
