BSOA’s bet Jasper Wayne Artificio, a.k.a. Ivana Maylawit, clinched its department’s second What A Mess Acquaintance (WAMA) crown during the face-to-face pageant held at the Campus gym on September 22, 2022.
The search for WAMA 2022 highlighted the Acquaintance Party which for the first time was attended physically by the students after two years that it was conducted virtually due to pandemic.
This year’s pageant was special as it marked its 20th year after the first WAMA queen was crowned back in 2003.
With CAPSU Mambusao Satellite College now allowing in-person activities, the Supreme Student Council and Future Leaders of the Philippines officers pushed the conduct of face-to-face Acquaintance Party, particularly the search for WAMA.
This year's theme, "Breaking Barriers and Bridging the Gaps towards United CAPSUnians," underscored the creativity and solidarity of the students amidst global outbreaks.
This year, eight full-blooded tough guys- two delegates from each department, dared to spread their wings wearing sexy dresses and doing the catwalk in front of their fellow students and teachers.
The candidates set the stage on fire during their production number wearing superhero costumes, streetwear, talent and long gown competitions.
The question-and-answer portion tested the candidates’ wit and intelligence where they were asked funny questions but had to give serious answers.
Aside from bringing home the crown, Artificio also snatched the awards for Best in Superhero Attire and Best in Interview with his answer, "I did my very best to make you all happy," which got the judges’ nod.
Failing to make another back-to-back win for the BAEL, Ranilo Gavino, a.k.a. Maria Toyota Kawasaki Honda Tractora, settled for a 1st Runner-up finish along with his Best in Production Number.
Mienan Brice Facironda, a.k.a. Mienaniz Krook Krook Inamerg, from BSCS just ended 2nd Runner-up despite her haul of various awards like Best in Streetwear, Best in Talent, Best in Gown, and People's Choice.
Another bet from BAEL, Christian Santiago, a.k.a. Cathy Kingkaray, was proclaimed 3rd Runner-up. Though the pageant was just for fun, Artificio took it seriously and really prepared himself for this competition.
"Self-confidence, health condition, proper mindset, positive thinking, and trust in God are my weapons for winning the title," he shared.
BAEL’s Reynan James Lacupa made an appearance on stage for her final walk as WAMA 2021 queen before crowning her successor.
What A Mess Acquaintance is the longest running beauty pageant in the Campus which started in 2003.
The Bachelor of Arts in English Language holds the record as the most victorious department winning the tiara 8 times. The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science won 6 times. The Bachelor of Science in Food Technology collected 3 while the Bachelor of Science in Office Administration pocketed 2. The former Agri-Science High School had secured 1.
