The Kalingawan Performing Arts Group (KALPAG) of Capiz State University Mambusao Satellite College conducted a dance and rhythm training workshop titled “Body Talk: Dance & Rhythm Training Workshop” at the CAPSU Mambusao Library, March 11.
The whole-day activity gathered student dancers for a series of lectures and practical sessions aimed at enhancing their skills in movement, rhythm, and performance.
The program opened with a prayer and the singing of the national anthem, followed by a welcome message from Satellite College Director Dr. Ramy Lloyd L. Lotilla.
During the morning session, Prof. Nino L. Horario served as the resource speaker and discussed the elements of dance, highlighting the importance of body movement, timing, and expression in performing arts.
A breakout session on contemporary dance then allowed student dancers to apply the concepts discussed.
In the afternoon session, Mr. Pio Franz A. Azarcon led a lecture and training on street dance style, where participants learned various techniques and movements commonly used in modern street dance performances.
This was followed by another breakout session where students practiced street dance routines.
The activity concluded with closing remarks from Socio-Cultural Affairs coordinator Prof. Kimberly D. Azarcon.
The workshop aimed to strengthen the performing arts culture in the campus while providing students with opportunities to develop their dance skills and artistic expression.
