Mark Rolino Marcelino and Mae-Ai Latigo bagged the Mr. & Ms. CapSU Poblacion 2011 titles during the pageant night held on August 26, 2011 at the CapSU Poblacion Campus gymnasium.

Mark and Mae-Ai of the Dynamic Tycoons team bested the other candidates who were also representatives of their respective teams competing in this year’s Intramural Meet. Three teams battled for supremacy in sports and athletics and literary-musical competitions. They were the Dynamic Tycoons, the D’ Buggers, and the ComTech. Comprising the roster of candidates were Mark Rolino Marcelino, Ruthman Bacalangco, Mae-Ai Latigo, and Medgie Pagayon of the Dynamic Tycoons; Garyl Lalis, Joemar Villacarlos, Diana Ross Cejas, and Jessa Gaspar of the D’ Buggers; and Rudnie Balad-on, Mike John Luces, Mydil Cabañog, and Gennifer Orna of the ComTech.

Their participation in the competition was made known to the public during their pictorial on August 11, 2011. Their close-up shots were taken at the Ladoc’s Photography studio and their whole body and group photo shoot at the town plaza of Mambusao. Crowd gathered as the candidates posed in front of the camera.

This year’s pageant was different. To promote the competition, CapSU Poblacion made use of a social networking site. A Facebook account was specially created for the Search for Mr. & Ms. CapSU Poblacion 2011. The photos of the candidates were uploaded so that Facebook users could view them. A new special award was also added which involved the public. Anyone who has Facebook account could vote for their favorite candidates. They just had to view the photo of a particular candidate and click “Like” to vote. The candidate whose photo received the most number of “Like” was named the People’s Choice during the coronation night.

The highlight of the competition was in the evening of August 26, 2011. The twelve candidates showcased their beauty and good looks, body built and figure, poise and grace, and bearing and projection as they walked on the ramp during the production number, swimwear, and formal wear parade. They likewise displayed their confidence, wit, and intelligence as they underwent the interview.

As the candidates walked on the ramp, the judges were giving a close look at them. These connoisseurs of beauty wanted to make sure that they come up with the best decision. The tremendous task of choosing this year’s Mr. & Ms. CapSU Poblacion was laid on the hands of Dr. Arturo L. Lava, Atty. Glaiza L. Lava, Ms. Hannah Covi P. Bansao, Ms. Joan B. Alicaya, Mr. Anthony N.
