The Philippines is known as one of the countries that excel in the field of arts. In fact, millions of Filipinos worldwide were discovered because of their amazing, world class talents and skills. In connection to this, the Bachelor of Arts department of Capiz State University-Poblacion Mambusao Campus celebrated its first ever Arts Day on February 27.

The main purpose of the affair was to showcase the talents of the AB students. Before the program started, there was a grand parade participated by all AB students together with their advisers and the department chairman.

The spectators got alive as selected AB students presented their opening dance choreographed by Bryan Lava, an AB III student, with the support of some members of the Dagway Sigmahanon.

The AB students’ talents were then tested in the contests prepared for them: their creativity in cosplay, sense of humor in comical skit, and teamwork in speech choir. Acting as judges in the different contest were the faculty members of the AB Department. Norijoy Bayot (AB II student) won the best in cosplay, AB I was the best in comical skit, and the best in speech choir was AB II. After consolidating all the results, the AB II was declared overall champion.

The highlight of the event was The Musical Drama presentation of the AB students with their Director, Ms. Arlyn Alejaga, and Prof. Virginia Magbanua as the overall in-charge of the production. They performed their English version of the movie “Corazon” with Ms. Julie Mae Loro playing the lead character.
