The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) conducted a forum at CapSU Poblacion on January 15.

For the first time, MTRCB was going to different regions in the country to educate people, particularly the students on how movies and television shows are being classified or rated. The theme of the 1st MTRCB Regional Forum was “Para sa Matalinong Panonood ng Pamilya nina Juan at Juana.”

In this forum, the faculty and students of CapSU Poblacion became more familiar of this government agency mandated to protect the welfare of the Filipino viewers.

The forum was spearheaded by its new chairman, Atty. Eugenio “Toto” H. Villareal, who happens to be a Mambusaonon. Atty. Villareal took over the chairmanship after former chairman Grace Poe-Llamanzares joined the senatorial race in the 2013 national elections.

Other board members present who were tasked to discuss their designated topics were Atty. Victoriano S. Muring, Jr., BM Jose Antonio K. Veloso, BM Francia Conrado, BM Mario Hernando, BM Jay Revestir, and BM Bobby Andrews.

The students were also given the chance to ask questions during the open forum. The moderator was BM Jackie Aquino, first cousin of Pres. Benigno S. Aquino III.
