Fifty selected students of Capiz State University-Mambusao Satellite College (CapSU MSC) gave pride for the school as they won 1st Runner-up in the Inilusan Dance Festival, Nov. 25.
The tribe was composed of BS Computer Science 1B, BS Office Administration 1A, BS Food Technology and Entrepreneurship 1A and 1B students.
Despite lack of preparation and experience, the group still managed to garner second place. They only had three weeks to rehearse with more or less three hours a day and usually after their classes in the afternoon.
Most of the participants were in their first time to join a cultural dance competition.
The Inilusan Dance Festival is an activity regularly included in the celebration of the Inilusan Festival of Mambusao, Capiz.
During the competition, the participating schools performed in two judging areas: at the Mauricio Tupaz Monument in Poblacion Tabuc and at the Mambusao Town Plaza.
The choreographer of the contingent of CapSU MSC was Prof. Caster A. Kapunan, a Physical Education professor and cultural coordinator of CapSU MSC. This year, CapSU Burias won 1st place while Mambusao Elementary School took 3rd place.
CapSU MSC had joined in the Inilusan Dance Festival in the past and also won 1st place for two consecutive years (2009 and 2010).
