JS Prom was revived as juniors and seniors gathered in an event exclusively for them slated Febuary 20.
With expenses as the main issue, this activity was missed in the campus for two years, 2015 and 2016.
However, after deciding on a minimal contribution majority of the juniors and seniors agreed to bring back the night when they could wear gowns or cocktail dresses and tuxedos. Weeks before the event, the juniors and seniors were filled with excitement as they waited for the “big night.” They were more particular on the dress they were to wear in an occasion attended by glamorous people wearing stunning attires.
The guest speaker of the night, Ms. Rose Andalecio-Pelongco, an alumna of CapSU Mambusao, reiterated the importance of holding a JS Prom.
The most important part of the affair was the turning over and acceptance ceremonies where selected seniors passed their responsibilities to selected juniors. This was then followed by the candle lighting and exchange of souvenirs.
To add color to the occasion, selected juniors and seniors presented an opening dance. As practiced in the previous years, juniors and seniors who were standouts were recognized by giving them special awards, namely: Face of the Night, Best in Dress, Head Turner, and Prom King and Queen.
At first, nominees for every award were chosen by the faculty members and were then presented. Voting followed which involved both the students and the faculty members. Christian July Alba, BSOA IV, and Camella Leal, BSOA IV, were chosen for the Head Turner awards. Floyd Delos Santos, BSCS IV, and Jeraldine Tillada, BSCS III, won the Face of the Night and Best Dressed.
Bagging the Prom King and Queen 2017 were Freeman TeƱoso, BSCS III, and Claire Celestial, BSCS IV.
The juniors and juniors enjoyed this last chance they could be together and made memories they will reminisce about their college life.
