Before her last day of service at Capiz State University, Dr. Editha L. Magallanes, university president, visited CapSU Mambusao Satellite College on July 14 to leave her final words to the faculty and students and at the same time to express her gratitude for the support they extended to her administration.
Despite short notice, the faculty, staff and students were able to prepare a simple but meaningful sendoff ceremony for Dr. Magallanes.
A day before, Dr. Lillibeth G. Leonor, satellite college director, received a message from Dr. Magallanes’ secretary informing her of the president’s visit the following day.
Since the visit was scheduled in the morning, it was impossible to prepare a grandiose ceremony. Dr. Leonor just instructed some of the personnel to prepare a simple program.
At around 9:00 A.M., Dr. Leonor requested the faculty, staff and students to gather at the gymnasium.
From CapSU Roxas City, Dr. Magallanes began her visit that day to the campuses in the second district of Capiz.
Her first stopover was at Sigma Satellite College where she met the faculty and staff for the last time in their campus.
From Sigma, she proceeded to CapSU Mambusao where a sendoff ceremony was especially prepared to honor her.
Dr. Magallanes just planned to meet the faculty and it would not be for long. But because a program was prepared and the students waited to hear her speak in the campus for the last time, she extended her stay and gladly shared words of inspiration with the students.
Dr. Magallanes’ visit also gave the freshmen the opportunity to meet the university president.
During the program, Dr. Leonor; Prof. Magdalena B. Concepcion, faculty president; Ms. Ma. Theresa J. Lastimoso, employee president; and Ms. Zandra Legpitan, SSC president, gave words of tribute for the university president.
