Capiz State
University-Mambusao Satellite College joined other agencies and
organizations in the province of Capiz in taking the challenge of
planting one million trees in a day.
The tree
planting activity was slated June 25 in time of the Provincial Arbor
Day in Capiz which was declared by Governor Antonio Del Rosario last
year.
As
contribution to this target, faculty and staff of CapSU Mambusao
planted 150 narra
seedlings in Kipot Forest Reserve, Burias, Mambusao, Capiz.
On the same
day last year, faculty, staff and students planted more or less 400
bignay
seedlings
on a piece of land inside the CapSU Burias Campus.
This
“One-in-One” Project of the provincial government is spearheaded
by the Capiz Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office
(CaPENRO).
This year,
the project was dubbed as “One Million Trees in One Day Challenge-”
a challenge to fight climate change.
