Before the opening of academic year 2019-2020 this August, Dr. Susan O. Dangan, VP for Academic Affairs, spearheaded the harmonization of curriculum of all the programs offered by Capiz State University.
CapSU Mambusao Satellite College served as the venue for the harmonization of curriculum of the Bachelor of Arts in English Language (BAEL), Bachelor of Science in Office Administration (BSOA), and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) programs.
During the opening program, Dr. Dangan stressed the need to have a uniform curriculum.
According to her, if a student wished to transfer to another campus taking up the same course, he would not have a problem with the subjects he would enroll.
Being the only campus that offers BAEL and BSOA, the respective program coordinators and selected faculty members worked on their curriculum.
On the other hand, the BSCS program coordinators and some faculty members from Pontevedra, Dayao, and Mambusao worked together to come up with a harmonized curriculum of the BSCS program.
Dr. Maria Aurora V. Bernabe, BAEL program coordinator, together with Prof. Lida L. Corcino, Prof. Freden S. Delgado, Prof. Felyn Mae G. Yap, and Prof. Shiela L. Martinez, worked on the revision of the program.
Having consulted Dr. Dangan and gotten her approval, the group decided to dissolve some of the subjects in the current curriculum.
The revised curriculum will be submitted to the Board of Regents for approval and, once approved, will be implemented this academic year 2019-2020.
