In determining the finalists, the average scores of the candidates in the production number, swimwear, formal wear, interview, body proportion and beauty of the face were obtained.
Candidates who advanced to the final round were subjected to final interview. They were judged based on beauty and personality, and their ability to answer the question.
Before crowning the new Mr. and Miss CapSU Mambusao, Peter Jhon Alido and Jean Oso reminisced their victory and gave message to their successors as they once again occupied the centerstage in their farewell walk.
Winning as this year’s Mr. and Miss CapSU Mambusao were Jebart Martinez and Chrichelle Pelegrin. RJ Lou Felasol and Steffany Rufino were named 1st Runners-up alongside Norberto Januto and Jovie De Asis as 2nd Runners-up.
Having joined beauty pageants in the past, Martinez and Pelegrin edged out the competition. Martinez was a title holder way back in high school while Pelegrin is the reigning Miss Com Sci of the Computer Science Department.
“The experience I gained from joining beauty pageants when I was in high school somehow helped me. I applied what I had learned from my trainings and it worked,” Martinez shared.
“I did not consider being the reigning Miss Com Sci as an advantage. In fact, I felt pressured. But I must say that my experience in joining a beauty pageant in the past helped me in one way or the other,” Pelegrin said.
Martinez and Pelegrin will represent the campus in the Search for Mr. and Miss CapSU 2019 this coming December during the Inter-Campus Meet.
