Vigo leaps for the gold.
CapSU Mambusao’s five-man team in track and field events secured three gold, one silver and one bronze, Nov. 19, at the Villareal Stadium, Roxas City.
Two weeks before the schedule of the Intercampus Meet 2019, track and field events were played ahead due to the unavailability of the venue on Dec. 4-6.
Never was expected that the small team would deliver the best record for the campus in the track and field since the staging of the intercampus meet years ago.
Only Sylvester Vigo was predicted to secure a gold taking into account his feat in high jump during his freshman year.
Vigo duplicated his victory two years ago by clinching another gold after his 6.02 meters jump, just two centimeters higher than the 6.00 meters of Mark Radgie Abaldonado who took the silver. Meanwhile, John Fritz Nucido settled for bronze with 5.10 meters.
According to Vigo, he could still jump higher if the bar was raised further. But with his opponents unable to clear the 6.02 meters, it did not go further.
In addition to his gold, Vigo also bagged bronze in the 100-meter dash who crossed the finish line in 11.12 seconds. He was behind Doben Bacanto of Pilar Satellite College who clocked 10.34 seconds for the gold. Taking the silver was Niel Knowell De Felipe of Roxas City Main Campus finishing at 10.53 seconds.

Ochon approaches the line for a gold finish.

Another double medalist from the campus was Fernard Ochon who ran in the 5,000 meters and 1,500 meters.
Trained to run for a long distance, Ochon finished the 5,000 meters in 20:1.97 earning him a gold. John Rubio of Pilar Satellite College wound up with a time of 21:11.78 to settle for silver in the event. Eddemar Guangco of Pontevedra Campus bagged the bronze clocking 22:24.22.
Ochon who also ran in the 1,500 meters finished in 5:1.65 enough to take the bronze.

Pinalba takes his final steps to secure another gold for the campus.

Though Ochon failed to bag the gold in the 1,500-meter run, his classmate Nuebie Pinalba however recorded the fastest time of 4:42.60 delivering to the campus its third gold.
Anthony Sebanes and Andrei Frederic Potato saw action in long jump and 100-meter dash, respectively, but failed to make a podium finish.
