Capiz State University-Mambusao Satellite College conducted a virtual acquaintance party which highlighted the annual search for What A Mess Acquaintance (WAMA), Nov. 27.
The COVID 19 pandemic did not stop the tradition of CAPSU Mambusao to hold a very exciting beauty pageant.
Every curricular department was required to have representatives for this pageant. The candidates were Fernand Ochon (a.k.a. Fernanda de Quarantina) and Lee Kam Nobleta (a.k.a. Corona Versusa) of the Food Technology Department, Bonner Oxemer (a.k.a. Bella Borjak) and Irone Andalencio (a.k.a. Sam Samitinyomanko) of the Computer Science Department, Jomarie Baile Sarandona (a.k.a. Magpanila Leonela Maynila Victoryo) and Christian Paul Baylador (a.k.a. Ray Sibovia Jr) of the Bachelor of Arts Department, and Mark John Francisco (a.k.a. Cattiona Grey Luzbang) and Angelo Alayon (a.k.a. Rabiya Mateo Gallichali) of the Office Administration Department.
The candidates’ first appearance was in their production number doing a catwalk in their chosen locations like town plaza, covered gym and bridge.
Each candidate also showed off their flair in the talent presentation. They displayed their poise and grace wearing their improvised new normal attire. Their wit and presence of mind were measured in the interview portion.
Before the announcement of the results, Vladimer Louie Hibionada took "her" last walk as WAMA 2019.
Most of the minor awards were won by the delegate of Office Administration Department.
Angelo Alayon was awarded Best in Production Number, Best in Talent, Best in New Normal Attire and Best in Interview while Bonner Oxemer clinched the Ms. Photogenic.
This year's pageant concluded with Bonner Oxemer winning 1st Runner-up and Jomarie Baile Sarandona as 2nd Runner-up.
The first ever virtual WAMA crown went to Angelo Alayon, a first year BS Office Administration student. He is also the first-ever winner from the department since the staging of the WAMA in 2004.
"We’ve been to a lot of struggles and challenges in participating WAMA, and it’s such an honor to be crowned WAMA 2020 as this will boost my confidence. I will forever treasure this experience in my student life journey," WAMA 2020 Alayon said.
The acquaintance party also included Department Tiktok showdown where CS Department won, followed by AB Department and OA Department in second and third places, respectively.
