VILLACAPA

Elcha Mae J. Villacapa made history as the first BS Office Administration student to be elected president of the Supreme Student Council of CAPSU Mambusao during the online election held on June 28-30.
Having obtained 64.7% of the votes cast, Villacapa’s victory was convincing over her lone rival Nicole Clyde A. Lumbania from the Bachelor of Arts Department.
Meanwhile, RJ Lou G. Felasol from the Bachelor of Arts Department prevailed over Arnel G. Barquilla from the Food Technology Department in the vice-presidential race.
Helping Villacapa and Felasol in running the organization during the Academic Year 2021-2022 are the elected senators, namely, Tristen Ara Ysabelle Torremaña, Jovie De Asis, Carla Jane Velado, Keith Anthony Linan, Marissa Balasa, Ferlyn Ortencio, Lance Joshua Magallanes, Norigay Bayot, Joice Florentino, Reza Esteban, Ereca Lopez and Crystel Ann Corcino.
Students also elected their respective representatives, namely, Lovely Ann Obamos, OA Department; Ronaldo Norico Jr., FT Department; Mae Anne Alipusan, AB Department; and Jonathan Llorico and Rona May Campuesto of CS Department.
In the local level, students voted for their respective governors and vice-governors. Jay-R Villeza and Mark John Francisco were elected governor and vice-governor, respectively, in the OA Department; Rizzel Jane Federizo and Baby Carla Andrade; FT Department.; Sharlene May Velado and Joey Luces, AB Department; and Ira Coldovero and Eljo Obamos in the CS Department.
Clifford John E. Sunio, outgoing SSC president who served for two (2) consecutive terms and a graduating BSCS student, congratulated the winners and shared his thoughts on the newly elected student leaders.
"I can say that the new student leaders are competent and can do better than what we, the outgoing officers, have done. Before the pandemic, I have seen them doing well with the teachers' assistance and of course, they have a positive attitude towards the school. I can safely say that the SSC and the whole student body are in good hands."
Meanwhile, Villacapa was surprised of the overwhelming support she received from those who entrusted their votes to her. Spearheading different student activities during the pandemic would be challenging but Villacapa was optimistic that they would be able realize their plans.
"As the newly elected SSC president, I don't know what to feel. All I can say is, thank you so much to my fellow CAPSUnians for trusting me. I know that this will be a journey full of challenges but I and my fellow newly elected SSC officers will work hand-in-hand to overcome every difficulty that we may face in running the organization. We will do our best to give what our fellow students expect from us," Villacapa expressed.
There is no guarantee of a face-to-face learning this Academic Year 2021-2022 due to COVID-19 pandemic but the SSC officers assured that this school year would be full of different student activities to be delivered through online platforms.
