Led by SSC President Elcha Mae J. Villacapa, students took part in the virtual Students’ Day on March 28, 2022 via Zoom with the theme "Online Kamustahan: Reminisce, Reconnect, Recapture."
The celebration started with an activity called “Free Wall” where students can post their confessions, feelings or thoughts in the comment section and “Words from our Seniors” in video clips from graduating students Maria Criszel Dela Cruz, BSCS; Zyrra Lou Laysa, BAEL; Steffany Rufino, BSOA; and Harold Laurilla, BSFT uploaded in the CAPSU Mambusao-Supreme Student Council Facebook page.
To encourage active participation, series of questions like “How was your Academic Year 2021-2022?”, “What do you think is the hardest hurdle during your college years?”, and “With the many responsibilities you have, how were you able to manage your time?” were posed and students answered simultaneously.
Of all the statements from the seniors, Laysa left a striking advice to her fellow students, "Just do your best. Just do what makes you happy and everything will follow.” Laysa is a student publication staff writer and at the same time, a working student who also faces different struggles in life.
As the highlight of the celebration, “Virtual Chikahan” then followed focusing on students' experiences on previous school activities, hosted by Elcha Mae Villacapa, SSC president.
Joan Arboleda, RJ Lou Felasol, Mark John Francisco, Jay Lindo, Norigay Bayot and Oxemer Bonner, students from different year levels joined the chikahan where they shared their struggles, accomplishments and feelings after engaging in the activities of the different school organizations.
"We all know nga sang naga-umpisa palang kita, wala sang nagapati. Tapos ang tulok nila sa aton indi pa amo ka impactful. Gapati gid ako nga if gusto mo gid ang isa ka bagay kag ga-enjoy ka, wala imposible. Indi ko siya maconsider nga discrimination kay ako, anti-social man gid. Medyo wala ako gapasugot nga daw ano lang, nga magstay lang ako sa negative vibe. Syempre, the purpose of life is to be happy. Gani padayon lang,” Bonner expressed his experiences in his journey as a dancer.
To cap off the activity, previous virtual school activities were reminisced in the throwback videos shared with the online participants.
