The faculty and staff fascinate the crowd with their ASEAN-inspired outfit.

The faculty, staff and students gathered in a ceremony titled ‘Pag-abi-abi’ to welcome them this Academic Year 2022-2023 on August 24, 2022. ‘Pag abi-abi' is a Hiligaynon word which means a hospitable welcoming of visitors.
This was the first activity that assembled the faculty, staff and students together during this pandemic.
Since the school is implementing the limited face-to-face classes this school year, the administration deemed it fitting to have a welcome ceremony to warmly receive everyone especially the students.
To limit the number of attendees, only the officers of the Supreme Student Council and Future Leaders of the Philippines were allowed to participate.
To add color to the program, the participants dressed in ASEAN-inspired outfit to celebrate the 55th Founding Anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
As Dr. Adelfo Z. Virtudazo, satellite college director, began his opening and welcome remarks, he couldn’t help but express his appreciation to the varied costumes of the faculty, staff and students. He even identified the countries represented by their costumes.
According to him, it was the beginning of gradually re-instating in-person school activities. He also mentioned that the limited face-to-face classes in subjects with laboratory is for the good of the students.
However, he cautioned everyone that COVID-19 virus is not yet over and there is a threat of the monkeypox virus. So, health protocols should still be observed.
Ms. Elizabeth M. Magallanes, human resource management officer, introduced the faculty and staff, who then presented a song number dedicated to the students.
Ms. Olga L. Llanera, SSC adviser and Mr. Freden S. Delgado, FLP adviser, also presented the officers of the Supreme Student Council and Future Leaders of the Philippines.
The SSC officers flaunt their ASEAN-inspired dress.

The FLP officers also showcase their ASEAN-inspired attire.

The Kalingawan Performing Arts Group gave an intermission number which surprised everyone as they were invited to join in their unity dance.
Prof. Lalaine E. Ricardo, student affairs and services coordinator, in her closing remarks expressed her delight in seeing for the first time a gathering of students in a school program which she has missed for two years. She was looking forward to more in-person school activities.
Rev. Fr. Robel G. Gicole presides over the celebration of the Mass of the Holy Spirit.

The Mass of the Holy Spirit presided over by Rev. Fr. Robel G. Gicole, university chaplain, then followed.
According to Fr. Gicole, the Mass of the Holy Spirit is a tradition in Catholic schools which he wanted to adopt here in CAPSU to seek the guidance and wisdom of the Holy Spirit in the new academic year.
