NEWS: Student leaders take oath in in-person induction ceremony

SSC officers are sworn into office by Dr. Adelfo Z. Virtudazo, satellite college director.

Officers of the various organizations in CAPSU Mambusao were sworn into office during the induction and turn-over ceremony held face-to-face for the first time after two years on Sept. 2, 2022 at the campus gymnasium.
More than 100 officers of the Supreme Student Council (SSC), Future Leaders of the Philippines (FLP), Computer Science Society, Society of Arts Students, Office Administration Society, PAFT Rho Student Chapter, Kalingawan Performing Arts Group, and TES-GO attended this important episode in the life student leaders.
Oathtaking is a means for the officers to make a public commitment to the duties, responsibilities and obligations associated with holding public office.
The advisers of the organizations and other faculty members witnessed the installation of the officers who are going to run the operations of the different school organizations.
In his opening Dr. Adelfo Z. Virtudazo, satellite college director, stressed the obligations and responsibilities of being a leader and as a student at the same time in his opening remarks. “Someone who leads must not only excel in his responsibilities and duties as a student leader but at the same time, must balance both leadership and his progress in academic performance,” said Virtudazo who also shared his experience as a student leader during his college.

Meanwhile, Mr. Joey O. Luces, SSC president, in his inaugural address expressed the principle of his administration.
“No one is left behind, we amplify voices, we take valuable actions, we rally students for positive causes, and we leaders as a role model,” said the newly inducted bellwether.
Luces appealed to his fellow officers that as an organization, everyone must cooperate and do their duties and responsibilities to achieve the goals of the organization. According to him, all are connected.
“I am the president and you are the officers. If you neglect my existence and you will not help me in this journey, I will be useless,” he said.

Also present during the ceremony was Ms. Elcha Mae J. Villacapa, outgoing SSC president, who turned over the SSC documents and funds to Luces.
Before stepping down, Villacapa left some insights about leadership.
“Leadership is not just about responsibility but an opportunity and privilege to serve, learn new things and grow physically, mentally, emotionally and socially,” shared the graduating former SSC president.
Villacapa also expressed gratitude to her fellow students for giving her the opportunity to serve and for supporting her administration.
To entertain the audience, officers and members of the Kalingawan Performing Arts Group rendered a series of intermission numbers.
Prof. Lalaine E. Ricardo, student affairs and services chairperson, pointed out in her closing remarks her hopes for the newly inducted officers that “they will carry the heart of a leader and also to be good followers, serving as a role model to the students.”
