The Research, Development and Extension Office of Capiz State University spearheads the Pagtukid 2022 on December 1-2, 2022.
Pagtukib is an activity of RDE that showcases the different technologies and commodities developed by faculty researchers in the campuses and satellite colleges of the University.
CAPSU Burias hosted this year's celebration which was on its third year. The first Pagtukib was staged in 2019 in CAPSU Dayao. In 2020, it halted momentarily due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Last year, Pagtukib Year 2 was held at CAPSU Roxas City Main Campus.
Capiz Governor Fredenil H. Castro graced the affair as keynote speaker during the opening program.
He lauded the University for its research endeavors but challenged the researchers to not just limit their research on food development.
He cited the technologies developed in Japan as example of what Filipino researchers should strive to achieve.
During this two-day affair, campuses and satellite colleges had a display and selling of products in their respective exhibit booths.
On the first day, aside from judging of the exhibit booths, there was also a contest in tour guiding and technology pitching.
Kin F. Sabala, a first year BAEL student, represented CAPSU Mambusao in tour guiding while Prof. Rhodora L. Ticar joined in technology pitching.
On the seconday, participants from the campuses and satellite colleges of Capiz State University had a showdown of their culinary skills in the food innovation cooking contest.
Each team was composed of two students under the supervision of one faculty member serving as coach.
While the cooking contest was going on, contestants in food photography contest were already taking photos of the actions taking place in the cooking contest.
Each participant was required to take at least 100 photos.
From 100 photos, they chose their best shots for main dish, dessert and drinks. These photos were the official entries of the contestants.
CAPSU Mambusao was represented by Neil Martinez and Marissa Balasa in the cooking contest while John Jireh Hachuela in the photography.
