Capiz State University officially opened the second semester of Academic Year 2022-2023 today, February 6, with the implementation of face-to-face learning in all subjects.
Last semester, Capiz State University-Mambusao Satellite College implemented the face-to-face learning only in selected subjects, particularly those with laboratory.
With the implementation of face-to-face learning, the administration reminds the students to still follow the minimum health protocols particularly wearing of facemask inside the classroom.
Based on the data from the Registrar’s Office, there are 946 students enrolled as of today. The Department with highest number of enrolled students is BS Computer Science Department with 405 enrollees, followed by BS Office Administration with 283, BS Food Technology with 183 and the lowest is Bachelor of Arts in English Language with 75 enrollees. The partial number of enrollees is still expected to increase because the enrollment is still going on.
Mr. Alejandro Aguiling from BSFT 1 said, “Excited ako,” when he was asked about how he feels during his first day of face-to-face classes. He slept early so he wouldn’t be late and he expects to learn more.
On the other hand, Mr. John Vincent Fritz Lizada, a BSCS 4 student said that he is not ready for the face-to-face classes because his learnings from the two years of long-distance learning are not enough to deal with the lessons he is about to study this semester.
“Chill lang, daw first year vibe lang pero budlay para kanakon nga graduating student tungod kulang ang nahibaloan sa modular kag gulpi lang nag face to face. Pero kayahon lang ang changes, may chance man nga maka-catch up sa lessons,” he said during the interview by The Courier correspondent.
As students of CAPSU Mambusao return to face-to-face classes this semester after two years of distance learning, the school is filled with noise again from the students chatting along the hallways, circle of friends sharing food in the school canteen, group of students talking and laughing in the gymnasium, and classrooms filled with students attentively listening to their instructors.
