FEAM officers, members honor retired colleagues

Ms. Fermina Gay C. Martinez, Dr. Adelfo Z. Virtudazo, and Dr. Rodyard B. Madiclum present a certificate of recognition and a gift to Prof. Magdalena B. Concepcion, a retired faculty member from CAPSU Mambusao.

Twenty-four retired members of the Faculty and Employees Association of Mambusao (FEAM) of Capiz State University received recognition from the association during the Pagpasidungog kag Pagpasalamat program today, February 3, 2023, at CAPSU Mambusao gymnasium.
Dr. Adelfo Z. Virtudazo, satellite college director of CAPSU Mambusao, in his welcome remarks expressed how honored and excited he was for hosting the recognition ceremony for the retirees.
Some of the honorees were his contemporaries when he was in CAPSU Burias particularly his fellow forester Dr. Guillermo L. Legada, Jr. who was program chairman of Forestry Department.
Dr. Genoveva N. Labaniego was his campus administrator in CAPSU Dumarao where he held post before he moved to CAPSU Mambusao.
In his talk, Dr. Virtudazo recalled the former assignments or designations of every retiree and his fond memories with them.
On the other hand, Dr. Rodyard B. Madiclum, campus administrator of CAPSU Burias, shared his inspirational message through songs which he sang a few of their lines.
On behalf of the retirees, Dr. Labaniego was tasked to give a response. Dr. Labaniego considered themselves pandemic retirees because they retired during the height of COVID-19 outbreak.
In her message, Dr. Labaniego said that her "heart wells up with gratitude." She felt overjoyed for the recognition given to them.
They were well recognized and completely rewarded for their services, and they "will be forever grateful to our beloved University."
For her, everyone who has retired has done their best, mentioning the sacrifices they went through when they started in the University.
As advice to the younger members of the association, she reminded them to "save and be practical in your lifestyle."
Finally, Dr. Labaniego admonished everyone to "love and show loyalty to CAPSU" and told them that "CAPSU is the best instrument in fulfilling your dreams.
Each retiree was presented a certificate of recognition for their meritorious services.Retirees who already passed away were also given posthumous recognition.
Mrs. Fermina Gay C. Martinez, FEAM president, expressed her gratitude to the honorees for their presence and likewise the FEAM members for their support and cooperation.
