Prof. Laguing shares with the participants his knowledge on basic parliamentary procedure.

CAPSU Mambusao continues to upskill student leaders with the conduct of training on basic parliamentary procedure on March 12 at the CAPSU Mambusao Accreditation Room.
The training was the third leg of the series of trainings organized by the Supreme Student Council (SSC) in collaboration with the Future Leaders of the Philippines (FLP), attended by selected officers from various student organizations in the campus.
Satellite College Director Dr. Adelfo Z. Virtudazo in his welcome remarks emphasized the importance trainings in the making of good leaders.
"A leader is not born; they are made and what you are doing now is part of making yourself a good leader... With your knowledge of parliamentary procedure, you can come up with good decisions with your different constituents or members of the organization," Dr. Virtudazo said.
The leadership training aims to equip student leaders with essential skills in meeting management and decision-making processes through cooperation and organization of ideas.
Drawing upon his experience and knowledge about the world of parliamentary procedure, Prof. Dhareen Laguing, who is designated as FLP Adviser of CAPSU Sigma, served as resource speaker.
Prof. Laguing provided insights into the role of parliamentary procedure in conducting meetings, emphasizing the need for structure and order to facilitate productive and fair discussions.
Reflecting on the seminar, Yeshua Regan Pascua, representative of the Society of Arts Students, highlighted that the knowledge he acquired during the training is valuable as it impacted them positively especially now that they are getting more exposed to corporate and professional environments.
"My key takeaway from the parliamentary procedure seminar is the importance of structure and order in facilitating productive and fair discussions. Learning about various motions, procedures, and rules has equipped me with valuable tools to effectively navigate meetings and ensure everyone's voice is heard," Pascua shared.
In her closing remarks, Dr. Lalaine E. Ricardo, student affairs and services chairperson, commended the conduct of the activity and expressed confidence that the skills learned by the students will benefit them in their future professions and leadership roles in the community.
"My congratulations for the success of this activity especially to our guest speaker who shared his expertise... I believe that the skills learned will be used by the students in their field of professions in the future or as future leaders in their community," Dr. Ricardo said.
