The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science faculty and students conducted their 11th Computer Science Day with the theme “AI Wonderland: Breaking the Boundaries of Artificial Intelligence” at the campus gymnasium, April 3-4.
Some university key officials graced the affair with their presence, namely VP for Academic Affairs Dr. Susan O. Dangan, QA Director Dr. Rosel L. Dionio, and ICT Director Engr. Rodel P. Balingit.
Dr. Dionio delivered an inspirational message. She expressed her pride and excitement to address the momentous occasion. She shared her thoughts on artificial intelligence and innovation.
“I have witnessed firsthand the remarkable progress we have made in harnessing the power of artificial intelligence and innovations in the department with the help of the BSCS faculty and staff. From developing cutting-edge algorithms to creating groundbreaking applications, our efforts have continuously pushed the boundaries of what is possible,” she remarked.
She also delivered the good news that “The university will give two complete computer laboratory units to every campus offering computer programs and one computer laboratory unit for campus without computer programs.”
Cheerdance competition then followed with the participation of six teams, namely Clickers (BSCS 1A and 1B), Cyber Creepers (BSCS 1C and 1D), Code Brewers (BSCS 2A and 2B), Tech Phantoms (BSCS 2C and 2D), Stat Survivors (BSCS 3A and 3B), and Thesis Warriors (BSCS 4A and 4B).
Stat Survivors emerged as champions, with Cyber Creepers and Clickers in 2nd and 3rd places, respectively.
In the afternoon, BS Computer Science students attended a seminar on Artificial Intelligence.
