The Sangguniang Bayan (SB) of Mambusao, Capiz hosted a recognition program to honor Dr. Efren L. Linan, the 4th president of Capiz State University (CAPSU), Oct. 23, and present to him the resolution passed by the council recognizing his achievements.
The event, which was held at the SB Session Hall, brought together local leaders, educators, and community members to celebrate Dr. Linan’s accomplishments and contributions to the university and the town.
Aside from the municipal officials, faculty and staff members from the CAPSU Central Office, Burias Campus and Mambusao Satellite College also witnessed the tribute accorded to Dr. Linan.
In her welcome remarks, Hon. Luzviminda A. Labao, municipal mayor, recognized Dr. Linan as an inspiration for the people of Mambusao.
"This momentous occasion is a testament to Dr. Linan’s dedication and perseverance and an inspiration to all of us in the Local Government Unit and the entire community," Mayor Labao said.
Hon. Labao also encouraged everyone to be supportive of one another and boost the morale of Mambusaonons who also aspire to achieve prominence.
“As we celebrate this significant milestone, let us continue to support one another and uplift our fellow Mambusaonons who strive for greatness much like Dr. Linan,” she added
Dr. Rodyard B. Madiclum, campus administrator of CAPSU Burias, and Dr. Ramy Lloyd L. Lotilla, satellite college director of CAPSU Mambusao, expressed their gratitude to LGU Mambusao for inviting them to witness the ceremony to honor Dr. Linan for his achievement as the fourth president of Capiz State University which brings pride and honor to his hometown.
Vice Mayor Wilfredo Leal and members of the Sangguniang Bayan also expressed their congratulatory messages for Dr. Linan.
Former Mayor and currently the Municipal Consultant Engr. Leodegario A. Labao, Jr. also attended the ceremony where he also congratulated Dr. Linan and assured the CAPSU head of his support to CAPSU particularly to Burias Campus and Mambusao Satellite College.
The program's highlight was the reading and presentation of Municipal Resolution No. 2024-134, which formally recognizes Dr. Linan’s significant achievements and contributions.
In response, Dr. Linan expressed his heartfelt thanks to the municipal council for the distinction given to him and for the support of the local government and CAPSU community.
The program concluded with a photo opportunity, followed by a fellowship lunch where attendees had the chance to engage with the honoree.
