Capiz State University (CAPSU) Stingrays wrapped up their campaign at the Regional State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (RSCUAA) VI 2024 Sports Festival with a second place finish after six days of sporting events hosted by Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology (ISUFST) from Dec.15-20.
The CAPSU Stingrays amassed an impressive haul of 176 medals, comprising 64 gold, 37 silver, and 75 bronze medals.
The CAPSU Stingrays made an impressive outing after making a giant leap from their last year’s performance.
The six-day sports and athletic meet featured 42 events across 22 venues, drawing 3,500 athletes from 13 state universities representing six provinces.
Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U) Technobees clinched their fifth consecutive overall championship after collecting a total of 96 golds, 68 silvers, and 64 bronze medals, edging out CAPSU Stingrays and West Visayas State University (WVSU) West Marals who were the early leaders.
The RSCUAA VI 2024 emphasized unity, inclusivity and well-being, aligning with the theme "One Western Visayas: Promoting Peace, Inclusivity, and Well-being through Sports."
This year’s RSCUAA will go down in history as the last participation of SUC’s in Negros Occidental due to the Negros Island Region (NIR) Act.
Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) will host the next RSCUAA.
