Capiz State University (CAPSU) kicked off its Culture and Arts Festival 2024 with a spectacular parade representing CAPSU's diverse cultural heritage, Dec. 3.
The parade filled the streets of Mambusao, and the subsequent opening ceremony drew a massive crowd of students, faculty, staff, and community members.
The opening ceremony, held at the Angeles Lema Villareal Center, followed the parade.
Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Susan O. Dangan delivered a welcome address, challenging students from all campuses to actively participate in preserving and promoting the university's cultural identity through the development and expression of their talents.
Before the official opening declaration, the poised and confident Mr. & Miss CAPSU 2024 contestants were presented to the public.
“In this celebration,” CAPSU President Dr. Efren L. Linan said, “we will experience the rich diversity found within our university. In a world where some invalidate us because of the geographic distance between our ten campuses, including Sapian, the arts and culture emerge as unifying forces, enabling us to express our unique perspectives, art, beauty, and differences,” as he officially declared the Culture and Arts Festival 2024 officially open.
Thunderous applause and cheers greet the announcement, signaling the start of the diverse and exciting events planned for the festival.
