The Guidance and Counseling Office organized a special orientation program, a collaborative effort with the Supreme Student Council (SSC) and Future Leaders of the Philippines (FLP), January 24.
Dr. Ramy Lloyd L. Lotilla, satellite college director, in his opening remarks highlighted the importance of the orientation program.
"This special orientation program is an initiative of our university to make the students aware of the services offered by the institution, " Dr. Lotilla said.
Designated registrar, Prof. Meschel L. Marcos, talked on the policies and regulations in her office, and the enrollment/registration requirements for both graduating and non-graduating students, covering the entire student lifecycle from admission to graduation.
Dr. Lalaine E. Ricardo, Student Affairs and Services chairperson, addressed the student discipline, student support programs and the prescribed uniforms for male and female students.
Ms. Ruby Lyn A. Viñas, college librarian, provided instructions on effective research methods and showcased the library's vast resources, including its extensive collection of books, journals, and online databases.
Ms. Ma. Relie V. Aguilos, guidance counselor, tackled the counseling services, particularly on the academic, personal, and emotional needs of the students.
To help students familiarize themselves with the campus community, Human Resource Management Officer Elizabeth M. Magallanes introduced the faculty and staff, specifying their roles.
Some students recognized the importance of holding this special orientation program especially the freshmen.
"Actually, I already aware of the rules and regulations of our school but I realized nga it is essential nga e-recap kay may instances nga nalilimtan ang iban nga part lalo na pag new student especially sa dress code. But overall, the program conducted was a great refresher," shared Pamela Paloma, BAEL 1 student and a transferee.
The program ended with the closing remarks of Ms. Michelle L. Espartero, student activities coordinator.
The special orientation program is held every second semester which aims to refresh students' knowledge of school policies, procedures, and resources, and to support students' academic progress.
