A farewell program called "Pagpasalamat" was held at CAPSU Mambusao Satellite College, February 17, to honor exchange students Mr. Derly Syahputra and Mr. Dennis R. Asral.
To commence the affair, Dr. Ramy Lloyd L. Lotilla, satellite college director, delivered his opening remarks. He also expressed his gratitude to Syahputra and Asral, with the hope that the two exchange students from Indonesia would hold dear their experiences here in our country.
"I hope that as they will be back on their homeland they will cherish the memorable moments that they have here in the Philippines particularly in Mambusao," Dr. Lotilla said.
The Bachelor of Arts in English Language (BAEL) students prepared a heartwarming video presentation showing photos and messages for the guests.
Syahputra became emotional and could not hold his tears knowing that he would be leaving the following day.
As what was did to them during the welcome ceremony, Yeshua Pascua and Vince Bubuli serenaded them with an Indonesian song while BAEL students presented gifts and tokens of appreciation.
Asral and Syahputra also expressed their gratitude to CAPSU Mambusao- the faculty, staff, and students, for the kindness and hospitality they have shown them.
Asral considers his stay in the Philippines one the great moments in his life.
"I … want to say that it is one of the biggest experiences ever in my 22 years of living here on earth. I think going to the Philippines is one of the best moments in my life, meeting the people, the hospitality, the culture, the way you're living, your food, and I'm just very grateful that I have the chance to become a participant of the Sea-Teacher Program," he shared.
Syahputra also shared an emotional message, expressing his gratitude for the wonderful time he had in Mambusao.
"Every meeting will ever truly lead to farewell. Today, I feel mixed emotions as I stand here to say goodbye after spending almost one month participating in the Sea-Teacher Exchange Program here in Mambusao. I hope that my experience will serve as a stepping stone for future growth," he emotionally shared.
Both guests expressed deep gratitude for being treated like family, from the warm welcome to the hospitality shown to them.
The BAEL students then performed a unity dance, showcasing the strong connections they had made with the guests.
A photo session followed, capturing special moments with Syahputra and Asral for the last time.
