The Local Government Unit of Mambusao, government agencies, academes, and the private sectors gathered at the Angeles Lema Villareal Cultural Center to celebrate the town's 419th Charter Anniversary, March 29.
This year's celebration revolved around the theme "Maragtas et Mambusaonon Handyrawon, Agud maga-Labaw sa Guihapon."
Capiz State University President Dr. Efren L. Linan graces the occasion as guest speaker.
CAPSU Mambusao faculty, staff and students headed by Dr. Ramy Lloyd L. Lotilla, satellite college director, also took part in this celebration.
The celebration was highlighted by a grand cultural presentation titled "Handuraw Mambusao," offering a vibrant retelling of its rich history and heritage.
The presentation underscored the town’s journey from its early settlers to modern civilization through a series of historical dramatizations.
The show, participated by various educational institutions in Mambusao, was divided into six scenes, each depicting significant eras in the town’s past.
The first scene, portrayed by Mambusao East National High School, showcased The Coming of Malays, tracing the arrival of early settlers who shaped the town’s early identity.
The second scene, presented by David Moises Memorial High School, depicted the Aborigines and Malay Era, illustrating the coexistence and cultural exchanges between indigenous people and early Malay settlers before Spanish colonization.
In the third scene, Mambusao National High School dramatized The Spanish Era and Establishment of Mambusao, highlighting the transformation of the town under Spanish rule, including governance and infrastructure development.
Saint Catherine Academy took the stage for the fourth scene, which focused on the Establishment of the Church, showcasing the role of religion in shaping Mambusao’s traditions and values.
The fifth scene, performed by CAPSU Burias, depicted the Mambusao Assembly and local freedom fighters. They brought to life the War Strategies and Struggles for Freedom, demonstrating the bravery of Mambusaonons in their fight for liberation.
Finally, CAPSU Mambusao Satellite College presented the sixth and final scene, Civilization, illustrating the town’s journey toward modernity and progress.
The presentation concluded with a Unity Dance, symbolizing the collective spirit of Mambusaonons, followed by the awarding of certificates to the participants.
