Two-hundred three CAPSU Mambusao students capped off their National Service Training Program-Civic Welfare Training Service (NSTP-CWTS) course during the NSTP completion ceremony with the theme "Celebrating Excellence Empowering Communities Embracing the Future with Knowledge and Integrity," June 10.
In his opening remarks, Satellite College Director Dr. Ramy Lloyd L. Lotilla stated that he sees the end of the students' NSTP journey as only the beginning of something even bigger.
"We gather today not just to celebrate the end of a program, but to recognize the beginning of something greater: your role as responsible, compassionate and service-oriented citizens of our community and our country," he said.
He also reminded the students that their service for the community continues beyond the completion and that they should use the knowledge they have gained during the course in the future.
"As we celebrate your achievement today, may this milestone remind you that service does not end here. The values you have learned and the experiences you have gained are now part of who you are. Carry them forward in your studies, your future careers, and your everyday lives" he added.
Afterwards, NSTP Coordinator Prof. Herman L. Baranda, Jr. presented the NSTP-CWTS candidates for completion to the Satellite College Director for confirmation.
One of the highlights of the occasion was the message delivered by the guest speaker, NSTP Director Dr. Elmer M. Albaladejo. In his speech, he emphasized two aspects: knowledge and integrity.
"Knowledge not only from books, not only from modules or lectures of your professors, but also from the life, experiences of people you observed: elders in the barangay, children you taught, officials you partnered with, and fellow students you collaborated with. You now understand that knowledge, to be significant, must be used to uplift, not to dominate, to serve, not to separate," he said.
For integrity, he highlighted that it is a fundamental characteristic to have, and that students must never exchange their morals just for their own interest.
"And equally important is integrity - doing what is right, even when no one is watching. It is the foundation of trust, leadership, and nation building. Never trade your values - values is something perceived as good and desirable. And never trade your values for convenience or popularity. As you grow into professional[s], leaders and community members, let integrity guide your decisions, your dreams and your direction in a rapidly changing society," he also added.
The distribution of certificates to the NSTP completers then followed, a document that serves as a tangible proof of their efforts to complete the subject.
The NSTP completers also took an oath of commitment led by DRRM Director Dr. Arnel Van V. Aleligay. There was also an official turn-over of NSTP completers to the NSRC/DRRM Focal Person Dr. June Rey I. Garbosa.
The event concluded with the closing remarks of Dr. Lalaine E. Ricardo, Student Affairs and Services (SAS) chairperson.
Dr. Ricardo wished that students will use the things that they have learned in NSTP for the betterment of our society.
"We hope that the information, the knowledge, the skills you gained from this subject… will be transformed into [something] more useful, [and become] beneficial to the community," she said.
