CAPSU Mambusao Satellite College went through an internal quality audit as part of its continuous commitment to strengthening its Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015/Amd 1:2024.
The on-site audit, scheduled on October 2–3, involved a comprehensive review of the campus’s processes, documentation, and compliance with established quality objectives.
The pool of internal auditors, composed of personnel from the Central Administration and led by Dr. Marien A. Laureto, was tasked with verifying the campus’s adherence to ISO standards through systematic evaluation, document review, process observation, and personnel interviews.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Ramy Lloyd L. Lotilla, satellite college director, emphasized the value of the audit as an opportunity for growth rather than something to be feared.
“The ISO internal audit is often seen as a test. I would like to invite everyone to a journey towards excellence—every recommendation becomes an opportunity and every observation becomes a lesson that helps us grow. After all, continuous improvement is part of our commitment. Just as we expect students to learn and adapt, we must strengthen our practices. Let us not fear the audit; instead, let us take pride in it,” Dr. Lotilla said.
Meanwhile, Dr. Laureto assured that the purpose of the audit is supportive, not punitive.
“Our team is not meant to find fault. We are here to help you, to strengthen and assist you,” she said.
Joining Dr. Laureto, Dr. Elmer Albaladejo, Dr. Rossandrew B. Villaruel, Prof. Christian George F. Acevedo, Mr. Leo Anthony C. Navarrosa, Ms. Ivy S. Bermio, Mr. Rector John A. Latoza, Mr. Czar Nelson M. Guzman, and Mr. Frederick D. Almeida comprised the audit team assigned to assess various offices and departments.
After the opening program, auditors proceeded to the offices assigned to them, following the audit schedule established by the quality management team. Each auditor arrived prepared with the necessary documentation and checklists relevant to the offices they were evaluating.
The two-day on-site internal quality audit concluded with an exit conference, marking the final stage of the evaluation process. During this session, the auditors presented their findings, summarizing key observations, areas of compliance, and potential opportunities for improvement based on the audit evidence collected.
Dr. Lotilla expressed his full commitment to addressing the recommendations put forward by the audit team. He acknowledged the importance of the audit findings as a tool for continuous improvement and emphasized that the insights provided would be carefully considered in strengthening the campus’ systems, processes, and overall quality assurance efforts.
He also highlighted the collective responsibility of the academic and administrative units in ensuring compliance with quality standards. He echoed to the faculty and staff that maintaining and enhancing quality is not the sole task of leadership, but a shared obligation that requires active participation from every member of the institution.
By committing to the implementation of the recommendations, Dr. Lotilla reinforced the college’s dedication to accountability, transparency, and the pursuit of continuous improvement. His leadership underscores the institution’s proactive stance toward quality assurance and its readiness to respond constructively to feedback for the benefit of all stakeholders.
The internal audit underscores CAPSU Mambusao’s commitment to quality assurance, accountability, and institutional growth. By aligning with international standards, the campus continues to strengthen its processes, ensuring that it delivers quality education and services to its stakeholders.
