The University Sportsfest and Conference 2025, held on December 9-13 at Capiz State University (CAPSU) -Roxas City (Main) Campus, concluded with an impressive campaign from the CAPSU Mambusao Howling Wolves, whose athletes brought home a remarkable collection of gold, silver, and bronze medals across multiple sports.
Despite stiff competition from other campuses, the Howling Wolves demonstrated determination, teamwork, and resilience, cementing CAPSU Mambusao’s reputation as a rising powerhouse in collegiate sports.
Several athletes stood out with gold-medal performances that anchored the campus’ campaign.
In badminton, Marlita Mae Tolentino dominated the Women’s Singles A, moving across the court with precision, agility, and calm focus to secure the gold medal. Her performance set the tone for a strong showing in racket sports.
Tennis also brought golds for the Howling Wolves. Mikko Escalada claimed gold in Men’s Lawn Tennis Singles A, while Gian Kevin Dela Torre and Carlo Dela Torre excelled in Men’s Lawn Tennis Doubles, demonstrating seamless teamwork and tactical awareness. Their victories highlighted both skill and preparation.
On the table tennis court, Crystal Mae Cipe captured gold in Women’s Singles A, holding her nerve against tough opponents and showing remarkable consistency.
Taekwondo became a stage for dominance as well. Renee John Lozada secured gold in the Men’s Lightweight Division and Arnel Cerilo, who captured gold in Men’s Bantamweight. On the women’s side, Leianne Grace Dianne Asuro earned gold in the Women’s Lightweight Division, completing a sweep for the Howling Wolves in taekwondo.
The Howling Wolves’ success extended beyond gold. Linus Louxenne Salvador earned silver in Men’s Lawn Tennis Singles B, finishing the tournament with composure and skill. In athletics, Diana Joy Trinidad brought home two bronze medals in Discus Throw and Javelin Throw, demonstrating versatility and determination.
Table tennis also contributed to the medal haul. Krish Trina Victoriano earned bronze in Women’s Singles B, while Joannah Marie Potato and Wenjinen Llorente placed 4th in Women’s Doubles, and Armond Villa and Christian Duane Lago finished 4th in Men’s Doubles. JohnDave Durias represented CAPSU Mambusao in Men’s Singles A, adding to the team’s competitive presence.
The Women’s Arnis Team delivered strong performances, with six athletes competing in matching uniforms. Their efforts resulted in three bronze medals, with Mira Sun Flores in Pinweight, Thea Corpuz in Featherweight, and Valerie Lagrante in Openweight.
The Men’s Arnis Team also shone with determination and focus. Christian Arroza led the group with a silver medal in Extra Lightweight, while Jecil De Juan (Pinweight), Jick Llorente (Featherweight), Guinn Alejandro (Half Lightweight), and CJ Asaytono (Lightweight) each earned bronze medals. Both teams demonstrated skill, perseverance, and teamwork, reflecting the strength of CAPSU Mambusao’s arnis program.
Capping the Howling Wolves’ diverse achievements, the Women’s E-Sports Team brought home a bronze medal, demonstrating strategy, focus, and teamwork in a highly competitive environment. Their success highlighted the growing presence of women in collegiate e-sports.
The CAPSU Mambusao Howling Wolves showed that success in sports goes beyond medals. Their campaign at the University Sportsfest and Conference 2025 reflected dedication, unity, and resilience—qualities that continue to define the campus’ athletes and programs. With heads held high, the Howling Wolves look forward to future competitions, ready to build on their accomplishments and roar even louder.
