Capiz State University (CAPSU)-Mambusao Satellite College, through the Guidance and Counseling Office, conducted an orientation program on Wednesday, January 14, to officially open the second semester of the academic year.
The activity aimed to prepare students for the upcoming term by providing important information and updates related to campus life and academic requirements. It also served as a platform to welcome students back and set a positive tone for the semester.
Guidance Counselor Prof. Ma. Relie V. Aguillos delivered the opening remarks. In her message, she encouraged students to actively participate and remain open to learning as they embark on a new chapter in their academic lives.
“As you begin this new chapter, we encourage you to be open to learning and to take part in the activities. Remember that you are not alone in this journey. Your teachers, staff, and fellow students are here to guide and support you,” she said.
Prof. Meschel L. Marcos, the designated registrar, discussed the rules, regulations, and policies of the registrar’s office. She highlighted important matters concerning registration and enrollment procedures, as well as the required documents for both graduating and non-graduating students, emphasizing that these serve as official entry and exit records on campus.
Meanwhile, Student Affairs and Services Chairperson Dr. Lalaine E. Ricardo addressed the students regarding the university’s code of discipline and discussed students’ duties and responsibilities. She also emphasized the importance of following the prescribed uniform and proper dress code for both male and female students.
In addition, Human Resource Management Officer Elizabeth M. Magallanes talked about client satisfaction measurement, underscoring the university’s commitment to quality service and the role of student feedback in improving campus operations.
The program formally concluded with the closing remarks delivered by Prof. Michelle L. Espartero, Student Activities Coordinator, who thanked the participants and speakers and encouraged students to have a successful and meaningful academic year.
In the afternoon, a special orientation for graduating students was conducted to prepare them for the final stage of their academic journey. The session focused on key information graduating students need to know, including graduation requirements, timelines, and available resources to support them as they complete their final semester.
In addition to receiving important updates, students had the opportunity to engage with faculty and staff, clarify lingering questions, and gain valuable guidance.
The special orientation served as an important platform to ensure that students are well-informed, prepared, and supported as members of the CAPSU-Mambusao academic community.
