The Office Administration Department celebrated its 12th Office Administration Day on April 7, bringing together students, faculty, and guests in a dynamic event centered on the theme, “Beyond Automation: Empowering AI-Ready Office Leaders to Innovate, Inspire, and Lead the Digital Evolution.”
The program formally opened with a prayer and the singing of the national anthem, setting a solemn and respectful tone for the celebration.
Prof. Frocy M. Navarrosa, BSOA program coordinator, delivered the welcome remarks, warmly greeting the participants and outlining the flow of activities. Meanwhile, Dr. Ramy Lloyd L. Lotilla, satellite college director, shared a message highlighting the importance of the event and encouraging participants to actively engage in the activities.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the keynote address of Ms. Mary Ann L. Villacampa, HR/AO/CorpSec of Rural Bank of Mambusao, Inc., sharing her insights on achieving success in the professional field, emphasizing growth, dedication, and purpose.
Villacampa shared her core memories and experiences as a student, emphasizing the value of meaningful connections.
“The most meaningful part of your journey will never be the systems you use, but the people you share it with,” she said.
She also spoke about life beyond school and the realities of becoming a professional, encouraging students to prepare not only academically but also personally.
Villacampa left the audience with three key reminders: believe in yourself, embrace challenges, and live with integrity and heart. She concluded with a powerful message saying, “True success is not just about what you have achieved; it is about who you become, how you treat others, and how you reflect God’s love in everything you do.”
The celebration also featured a variety of student-centered activities that both showcased creativity and skill. The OA on Ramp competition showcased themed attire presentations, including uniform, office attire, denim attire, and Ka-Vogue (newspaper-inspired outfits), while intermission performances highlighted the students’ talent and creativity, bringing energy and entertainment to the program.
Winners across all competitions, including OA on Ramp and academic events like keyboarding, stenography, and quiz bowl, were honored during the awards announcement, highlighting both creativity and proficiency.
The learning experience continued through an informative seminar on integrating artificial intelligence into daily life and professional settings.
Prof. Art Jayson Osuyos introduced students to the growing role of AI, explaining its uses, real-life applications, and significance for future leaders. He emphasized that AI serves as a tool to assist rather than replace humans and encouraged students to use technology responsibly.
Students were also introduced to various AI platforms, including ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Canva AI, Gamma, and TinyWow, along with effective prompting techniques using the C.A.S.E. framework. The discussion also underscored the importance of data privacy and ethical use of technology under Republic Act 10173.
The program concluded with the awarding of certificates of appreciation and participation, followed by closing remarks from Dr. Lalaine E. Ricardo, student affairs and services chairperson.
Through this celebration, students were not only recognized for their skills and talents but were also equipped with knowledge and tools essential for thriving in the age of artificial intelligence.
