Preparations are in full swing at Capiz State University (CAPSU)-Mambusao Satellite College as University President Dr. Efren L. Linan, Quality Assurance Director Dr. Rossandrew V. Villaruel, and other central administration personnel visited the campus for a pre-opening conference on Thursday, August 6, ahead of the opening of the Academic Year 2026–2027.
The visit marked the sixth campus inspection by the university's top management this week. Since assuming office, Dr. Linan has institutionalized regular campus visits to assess the readiness of university facilities and ensure that faculty, staff, administrators, and students begin the academic year in a safe and conducive learning environment before classes officially open.
Addressing the faculty, staff, and students, Dr. Linan emphasized that the purpose of the campus inspections is not to showcase perfectly maintained facilities but to identify areas that require immediate attention and improvement.
"We like to look where the holes are," Dr. Linan said. "Our aim is to learn how we can work together and make our facilities better."
He also provided updates on the university's ongoing administrative and academic initiatives, noting that the Central Office continues to actively oversee institutional operations and implement programs that support the university's long-term development.
Among the key initiatives presented was the expansion of international opportunities for faculty and staff. Through the university's newly established partnership with a university in Taiwan, selected personnel will be given the opportunity to participate in short-term international training programs aligned with their respective fields of expertise.
In addition, CAPSU continues to advance its campus beautification and maintenance program through the repainting of administrative buildings and classrooms using the university's blue-and-white color scheme, creating a more welcoming and visually unified campus environment.
During the open forum, students were also given the opportunity to raise their concerns directly with the university president. Dr. Linan promptly addressed minor issues that could be resolved immediately, while assuring the student body that more complex concerns would be carefully studied and addressed in due course through appropriate administrative action.
The pre-opening meeting reaffirmed the university administration's commitment to responsive governance, continuous campus improvement, and providing a learning environment that supports both academic excellence and student welfare. With preparations now in their final stages, Capiz State University-Mambusao Satellite College stands ready to welcome students, faculty, and staff as classes for the Academic Year 2026–2027 officially open on Monday, August 10.
