Capiz State University–Mambusao Satellite College conducted the “Pagkilala” Orientation Program for Academic Year 2026–2027 on August 20 at the campus gymnasium, equipping students with essential information on campus policies, academic programs, student services, and the expectations they are to meet throughout the school year.
The program formally commenced with emcees Mr. Rigel Kent D. Delfin and Ms. Jana Bea M. Pajarillo acknowledging the faculty and staff in attendance. This was followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, prayer, and Capiz Hymn, led by the Himig Kalingawan Chorale, while the Bagong Pilipinas Hymn was played on air.
Prof. Ma. Relie V. Aguilos, on behalf of Dr. Ramy Lloyd L. Lotilla, Satellite College Director, delivered the welcome remarks. She encouraged students to listen attentively, participate, and freely ask questions throughout the orientation. She also emphasized that the activity would help students become more familiar with the university and feel more prepared as they begin the new academic year.
The orientation proper continued with the presentation of the faculty and staff, facilitated by Ms. Elizabeth M. Magallanes, HRMP Designate, introducing the university personnel and different offices that students may approach for assistance.
A short entertainment segment followed, with Mr. John Paul Deocareza serenading the audience with a song.
The students were then shown a video presentation on Data Privacy and Freedom of Information, reminding them about responsible handling of personal information and their rights and responsibilities regarding information.
The discussion on university rules and regulations began with Prof. Meschel L. Marcos, College Registrar, who gave important reminders regarding academic policies, academic load, grading systems, and registration-related matters.
This was followed by Dr. Lalaine E. Ricardo, Student Affairs and Services Chairperson, who discussed important provisions of the student handbook, including proper uniform, code of conduct and discipline, and students’ duties and responsibilities.
The morning session concluded with students gaining essential information about university policies and student responsibilities.
The orientation resumed in the afternoon with brief presentations from the different student support offices. Dr. Herman L. Baranda Jr. presented the NSTP, followed by Ms. Ruby Lyn A. Viñas for Library Services; and Dr. Janice D. Ballera for Sports and Student Housing Services.
Mr. Francis Carl A. Figarola, School Nurse, was represented by Dr. Lalaine E. Ricardo for the Medical and Dental Services. Prof. Ma. Relie V. Aguilos discussed Guidance and Counseling Services, while Dr. Rica M. Llorito presented Scholarship Services.
Ms. Trexy Heredero, SSC President, also gave a brief update on the student penalties, emphasizing that these measures are intended not only to promote discipline but also to encourage students to actively participate in school events, activities, and programs. She encouraged students to take part in campus activities and become more involved in the school community.
The program concluded with an open forum, allowing students to ask questions and clarify concerns regarding the different services and policies presented.
The Pagkilala Orientation Program successfully provided students with essential information while creating a welcoming atmosphere for the new academic year. The activity left students informed, encouraged, and empowered as they begin their academic journey for Academic Year 2026–2027.
